So far, I'm going to Rochester, NY in April and Syracuse, NY in June. Trying to get tickets for March in Atlanta.

Where is everyone else going?

I saw one show in Canada: the X Anniversary Tour in Hamilton.

There was an epic moment with Susan in that show. If you're interested, you can read about in my review here (Hamilton is at the end):

Thanks. I plan to read it at some point.

Let's just say that me not getting to either of those two shows of the 10th Anniversary Tour when they were sooooo close left a DEEP wound emotionally. This is a story I don't really want to tell, but there were some family obligations to attend to and by the time those arrangements were finalized, it was too late. Family is family, but I was NOT happy.  >:(

I don't want to "hulk" up any more this late at night so I'll have to look at this later. Lol.

I changed my mind and read it.

That's amusing, though unfortunate. I suppose when nature calls though...

I suppose it would have been ironic if they had been singing The Call at the time...

Anyways, I haven't been to many concerts in general and almost all of them have been in the US, rather than in Canada. But I believe the reaction you described. It was the same way in Detroit this year. No ovations at all until the final 3 songs of the show. People stayed in their seats for Amazing Grace for crying out loud (and that was the "classic" arrangement). The only time that crowd got energized before the end of the show was when Mairead Nesbitt came out and started tearing up the stage with her fiddle and feet. Now mind you, I was clapping right from the start of When You Go so I had people looking at me funny. I didn't care. I was in heaven.

Because of CW management's decision to ignore the Seattle WA area (the most populous city in the Pacific Northwest) for the 2nd year in a row, for the first time since 2005 I will not be able to attend any shows this time. The closest next year is Boise, which is a 9hr drive for me. I've about had it with this management team's decisions when it comes to tours. We haven't had a Symphony Tour since Lisa Kelly's last year and a CW show in Seattle since 2013. They have come to Everett (1hr north of Seattle) in 2014 & 2015 but nothing in 2016 and now nothing in the entire state of WA in 2017. All they care about is the East coast and Midwest if you look at the tour on a map. I've sent many letters of protest to the management team with NO RESPONSE. They don't give a darn about fans.

Hey CWazyTom,
I am also going to the Kitchener show in April and was wondering if you had any intel on them holding an M&G there?
I think we all should e-mail CW and "request" they have a Canadian M&G, especially as there hasn't been one that I know of. I may be wrong here as it is possible that Rama holds one but is only for their "high rollers".
Did you go to the Windsor show earlier this year?
Do you know of any others attending Kitchener? Perhaps we could all meet up for a bite pre-show.

Hi hkfan,

Great to hear you'll be coming to the Kitchener show.

So there's a number of potential ways that a M&G "could" be offered:
- Through the venue (or in this case, the ticket vendor for the venue) ... the do not offer a M&G for this show though
- Through PBS ... the closest PBS to Kitchener is Buffalo PBS ... we could contact them and ask, but my best guess is they would only do it for a show in New York

I think Celtic Woman does all of their M&G offers through PBS.

At the Kitchener venue, "subscription" tickets were available before the tickets went available to the general public (that was for 4-5 shows instead of just the Celtic Woman show). Those didn't have any VIP / M+G tickets, but they got the first choice of seats, so by the time I could order in the general ticket sale, the first 4 rows were already taken. Unfortunate, but I'll survive.

The tickets I got were non M+G since I didn't want to wait any longer to find out if there would be M+G tickets available.

I will keep checking from time to time between now and then and ask around, but my plan was to try a Stage and Greet (wait for them at the stage door exit). The advantage is it doesn't cost extra. The downsides are:
- The girls won't be wearing their show dresses
- No guarantees the girls will have time to stop and chat
- If the weather is bad (and it April, it very well could be), it's not a great situation to stop the girls outdoors, especially if you want to ask them to sign things
- Some venues (not sure about this one) have security at the stage door exits to stop this kind of thing

I'm going to a Home for Christmas show next week and will try it there, so I'll let you know if that works out.

If either of us finds more about a formal M+G though, let's post about it here.

If worse comes to worse, I will beg the girls directly and probably a bunch of the band / choir members too for good measure. Lol.

Let's stay in touch and I'll see you there!

I contacted Buffalo (WNED) about the show there and they were most uninterested, so there's no way they would be involved for Kitchener. I'm going to follow up with Centre in the Square management to see if they can get involved.

Last Xmas, the BSO (Buffalo Symphany Orchestra) organised their own M&G for the Xmas show and I was lucky enough to be the first person they contacted to see if I wanted any passes! I bought 4 - $50 each. We (20 in all) were treated to our own reserved area pre-show and a fantastic M&G in the same room as the crew & performers had their food - not a dingy staircase. They even organised a signed poster for us. I'll suggest this to CitS management, it could raise a few $$ for them.

CW have a spare travel day before the show so a Pre-show meet shouldn't be a problem. One of the main people to get to is Sett, tour manager, that's if he will be doing VoA.

I managed to get a subscription seat for the show along with Elf, Cirque Dreams and Riverdance (AA10 I think). I actually live not too far away and am considering becoming a member as it gives access to the members lounge and valet parking as well as pre-sale tickets. They do put on some good shows.

Which show are you off to next week? I'm going down to Wabash IN for the show there. I was going to Pittsburg but that got canned.

I don't have any M&Gs before Kitchener so I'll try e-mailing CW to plant seeds.

Let you know if I get any news.
